About Us - Core Values
PDF Print E-mail

Core Values are fundamental principles that we cannot compromise and we must not ignore.  They are non-negotiable boundary-markers that keep us “in play;” key foundational beliefs and standards that undergird the church.

Core values must be considered frequently and articulated often.  Like precious keepsakes displayed in a special place, they need to be taken out, examined and handled regularly.  While there certainly are more core values that could qualify, here are some that we emphasize, along with representative references for further clarity:

  • Kingdom first (Matthew 6:33)
  • Loving God and loving people (Matthew 22:37-40)
  • The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is essential for growth (Titus 2:11-12)
  • God's plan for reaching people far from Him has always been to have people near Him (1 Peter 2:5,9)
  • Without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit we can accomplish nothing (Zechariah 4:6)
  • Engaging in conversation with God is a foundational work of the people of God (Revelation 3:20)
  • Hearing and obeying God's Word is foundational for true success (2 Timothy 3:16-17 )
  • Achieving God's purposes involves taking faith-filled risks (Hebrews 11:6)
