The Mayflower Congregational Church began with a handful of people in 1965. The founding pastor, Dr. Leslie Deinstadt, was called in 1966. Mayflower's Compact was signed by 42 members on March 15, 1965. They began meeting in the chapel of the Milwaukee University School. Gifts of land were given to the growing church and ground was broken on May 6, 1973. God blessed as Dr. Deinstadt served faithfully until he retired in 1980.

Over the years, the church building has grown physically and God has been at work in and through its many members and adherents. God has used the ministries of Pastor Michael Halcomb (1980-1987), Pastor Greg Groh (1987-1991), Pastor Murray Hicks (1993-1994), Pastor Mike Kleven (1997-2005), and Pastor Scott Hull (2007-2011) with the help of a few interim pastors to reflect Jesus Christ to Milwaukee's North Shore. In those years, the church's name was changed from Mayflower Congregational Church to Hill Point Christian Church and in 2006, it became accredited with The Christian & Missionary Alliance where it stands currently.
