As
I’m writing this,
I’m aware of an
“army” of purpose
driven volunteers who
are working this
morning in our
building facility.
Their mission is to
make our church
facility seasonally
attractive so that the
meaning of this
glorious Christmas
time is visually
enhanced and edifying
to the high and holy
event it represents.
As
we gather in our
comfortable and
attractive worship
facility to raise our
voices, hear His Word,
and share our
blessings, it’s
important to remember
God’s best gift to
us, His Son, our
Savior and Lord.
We must protect the
message of this sacred
event as song writer
Michael Card has
written: “If
Christmas means
anything to you, then
it must mean
everything. It
is a beginning and an
end. It is a
time of darkness and
inexpressible light.
It is a time of
blessed relief at
finally seeing all
God’s promises come
true in one person.”
Many
of us have been
serving and praying
for years that God’s
plan to use our church
to reach the families
of the North Shore
will unfold in a great
light of spiritual
awakening.
Let’s pray that He
will use this advent
season to “come
true” as we
celebrate His son’s
first birth.
Next
week, I’ll be
sending you a calendar
of special services
and events that will
report on many
opportunities,
gatherings, and
services which portend
a season of rejoicing
in God’s faithful
blessing on our
congregation in the
weeks and months to
come.
