Alliance (C&MA), and is
located in the North Shore
area of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. At Hill Point,
people come from a wide
variety of backgrounds
including many different
denominations and those with
no previous church
experience. What brings
us together is a desire to
encounter God in real, powerful and life-changing ways.
Affirmation
of Faith
I.
The Word of God: We believe
in the Bible as the Word of
God, written under the
inspiration of the Holy
Spirit, and inerrant in its
original manuscripts.
The Bible is our true,
complete and final authority
in faith, life, and
ministry.
All Scripture is
God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking,
correcting, and training in
righteousness, so that the
man of God may be thoroughly
equipped for every good
work. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Above
all, you must understand
that no prophecy of
Scripture came about by the
prophet's own
interpretation. For
prophecy never had its
origin in the will of man,
but men spoke from God as
they were carried along by
the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter
1:20, 21)
To
the Jews who have believed
him, Jesus said, "If
you hold to my teaching, you
are really my
disciples. Then you
will know the truth and the
truth will set you
free. (John 8:31, 32)
But
these are written that you
may believe that Jesus is
the Christ, the Son of God,
and that by believing you
may have life in his name.
(John 20; 31)
Heaven
and earth will pass away,
but my words will never pass
away. (Mark 13;31)
Sanctify
them by the truth; your word
is the truth. (John 17:17)
Also,
Psalm 119:97-104, Hebrews
4:12, Acts 20:32.
II. The
Trinity: We believe in
one living and true God,
eternally existing in three
persons: the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit.
To
God's elect, strangers in
the world, scattered
throughout Pontus, Galatia,
Cappadocia, Asia, and
Bithynia, who have been
chosen according to the
foreknowledge of God the
Father, through the
sanctifying work of the
Spirit, for obedience to
Jesus Christ and sprinkling
by His blood. Grace
and peace be yours in
abundance. (1 Peter
1:1, 2)
Hear,
O Israel: The Lord our God,
the Lord is one.
(Deuteronomy 6:4)
At that time Jesus, full of
joy, through the Holy
spirit, said, "I praise
you, Father, Lord of Heaven
and earth, because you have
hidden these things from the
wise and learned, and
revealed them to little
children. Yes, Father,
for this was your good
pleasure. All things
have been committed to me by
my Father. No one
knows who the Son is except
the Father, and no one knows
who the Father is except the
Son and those to whom the
Son chooses to reveal
them. (Luke 10:21, 22)
In the beginning was the
Word, and the Word was
God. He was with God
in the beginning.
Through him all things were
made; without him nothing
was made that has been
made. (John 1:1-3)
In the beginning, God
created the heavens and the
earth. Now the earth
was formless and empty,
darkness was over the
surface of the deep, and the
Spirit of God was hovering
over the waters...Then God
said, "Let us make man
in our image, in our
likeness..."
(Genesis 1:1, 2, 26)
Also, Psalm 139:7-12,
Matthew 28:19, John 4:24,
Romans 1:1-6, Romans 1:19,
20, 2 Corinthians 13:14,
Ephesians 4:5, 6, 1 Peter
1:1-3
III. God the
Father: We believe in
God the Father, maker of
Heaven and earth. His
is sovereign over all and
foreknowing of all things to
come. He is the
essence of love, and He
saves from sin and death all
who come to Him through
Jesus Christ.
"I am the Alpha
and the Omega," says
the Lord God, "who is,
and who was, and who is to
come, the
Almighty."
(Revelation 1:8)
To God's elect, strangers in
the world, scattered
throughout Pontus, Galatia,
Cappadocia, Asia, and
Bithynia, who have been
chosen according to the
foreknowledge of God the
Father, through the
sanctifying work of the
Spirit, for obedience to
Jesus Christ and sprinkling
by his blood. Grace
and peace by yours in
abundance. Praise be
to the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ! In
his great mercy he has given
us new birth into a living
hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ
from the dead. (1
Peter 1:1-3)
At that time Jesus, full of
joy through the Holy Spirit,
said, "I praise Father,
Lord of heaven and earth,
because you have hidden
these things from the wise
and learned, and revealed
them to little
children. Yes, Father
for this was your good
pleasure. All things
have been committed to me by
my Father. No one
knows who the Son is except
the Father, and no one knows
who the Father is except the
Son and those to whom the
Son chooses to reveal
them. (Luke 10:21, 22)
Praise be to the God and the
Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ! In his great
mercy he has given us new
birth in a living hope
through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the
dead,... (1 Peter 1:3)
Now this is eternal
life: that they may
know you, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ, whom you
have sent. (John 17:3)

3:16, John 6:27, Romans
1:1-10, 1 Timothy 1:1, 2,
Revelation 1:6
IV. Jesus
Christ: We believe in
Jesus Christ, God's only
begotten Son, conceived by
the Holy Spirit, and born of
the Virgin Mary. He
led a sinless life and was
crucified, died, and rose
the third day, ascended to
heaven. He sits at the
right hand of the Father,
interceding for His people;
and all who believe in Him
are set free from sin and
death and made alive to God
in Christ.
For God so loved the
world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal
life. For God did not
send His Son into the world
to condemn the world, but to
save the world through
Him. (John 3:16)
For there is one God and one
mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom
for all men-- the testimony
given in its proper
time. (1 Timothy 2:5,
6
"I tell you the
truth," Jesus answered,
"before Abraham was
born, I am!"
(John 8:58)
Paul, a servant of Christ
Jesus, called to be an
apostle and set apart for
the gospel of God-- the
gospel he promised
beforehand through his
prophets in the Holy
Scriptures regarding his
Son, who as to his human
nature was a descendant of
David, and who through the
Spirit of holiness was
declared with power to be
the Son of God by his
resurrection from the
dead: Jesus Christ our
Lord. Through him and
for his name's sake, we
received grace and
apostleship to call people
from among all the Gentiles
to the obedience that comes
from faith. And you
also are among those who are
called to belong to Jesus
Christ. (Romans 1:1-6)

1:18-25, Matthew 20:28,

V. The Holy
Spirit: We believe the
Holy Spirit is a divine
person, fully God, sent by
the Father to indwell,
guide, teach, comfort, and
empower Christians.
The Holy Spirit convicts the
world of sin, righteousness
and judgment.
...for the Holy
Spirit will teach you at
that time what you should
say. (Luke 12:12)
And I will ask the Father,
and he will give you another
Counselor to be with you
forever-- the Spirit of
truth. (John 14:16,
17)
But the Counselor, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will
send in my name, will teach
you all things and will
remind you of everything I
have said to you.
(John 14:26)
But I tell you the
truth: It is for your
good that I am going
away. Unless I go
away, the Counselor will not
come to you; but if I go, I
will send him to you.
When he comes, he will
convict the world of guilt
in regard to sin and
righteousness and
judgment: in regard to
sin, because men do not
believe in me; in regard to
righteousness, because I am
going to the Father, where
you can see me no longer;
and in regard to judgment,
because the prince of this
world now stands
condemned. I have much
more to say to you, more
than you can now bear.
But when he, the Spirit of
truth, comes, he will guide
you into all truth. He
will not speak on his own;
he will speak only what he
hears, and he will tell you
what is yet to come.
He will bring glory to me by
taking form what is mine and
making it know to you.
All that belongs to the
Father is mine. That
is why I said the Spirit
will take form what is mine
and make it known to
you. (John 16:7-15)
Therefore, there is now no
condemnation for those who
are in Christ Jesus, because
through Christ Jesus the
laws of the Spirit of life
set me free from the law of
sin and death... who do not
live according to the sinful
nature but according to the
Spirit... You however, are
controlled not by the sinful
nature but by the Spirit, if
the Spirit of God lives in
you. (Romans 8:1-2,
4b, 9)
Also, 1 Corinthians 3:16,
6:19, Galatians 5:22-26
VI.
Regeneration: We
believe God created humanity
in His own image. The
first humans sinned
resulting in separation from
God-- a physical, spiritual,
and eternal death.
Therefore, all human beings
are born separated from God
and spiritually dead.
We believe all who accept
and trust Jesus Christ by
faith are born anew by the
Holy Spirit and thereby
become children of
God. They are new
creatures, delivered from
condemnation and receive
eternal life.
Then God said,
"Let us make man in our
image, in our
likeness..."
(Genesis 1:26)
...When God created man, he
made him in the likeness of
God. He created them
male and female and blessed
them. And when they
were created, he called them
"man."
(Genesis 5:1,2)
"I tell you the truth,
whoever hears my word and
believes him who sent me has
eternal life and will not be
condemned; he has crossed
over from death to
life." (John
5:24)
Then Jesus declared, "I
am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will
never go hungry, and he who
believes in me will never go
thirsty... All that the
Father gives me will come to
me, and whoever comes to me
I will never drive
away." Romans
9:22, 23
What if God, choosing to
show his wrath and make his
power known, bore with great
patience the objects of his
wrath-- prepared for
destruction? What if
he did this to make the
riches of his glory known to
the objects of his mercy,
whom he prepared in advance
for glory... (Romans 9:22,
23)
For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God,
and are justified freely by
his grace through the
redemption that cam by
Christ Jesus. (Romans
3:23, 24)
Therefore, if anyone is in
Christ, he is a new
creation; the old is gone,
the new has come. (2
Corinthians 5:17)
Therefore, there is now no
condemnation for those who
are in Christ Jesus.
(Romans 8:1)
Yet to all who received him,
to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to
become children of God--
children born not of natural
descent, nor of human
decision or a husband's
will, but born of God.
(John 1:12, 13)

VII. The
Church: We believe the
Church is the body of
Christ-- a spiritual body of
all regenerated persons-- of
which Jesus Christ is
head. There is one
church universal, composed
of all those throughout the
world who acknowledges Jesus
Christ as Savior and
Lord. We believe in
the local church that
consists of believers in
Jesus Christ that are
commissioned to proclaim the
message of salvation in
Christ to a lost world, and
called to meet together for
worship, prayer, teaching,
communion, baptism, and
fellowship.
Consequently, you are
no longer foreigners and
aliens, but fellow citizens
with God's people and
members of God's household,
built on the foundation of
the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as
the chief cornerstone.
In him the whole building is
joined together and rises to
become a holy temple in the
Lord. And in him you
too are being built together
to become a dwelling in
which God lives by his
Spirit. (Ephesians
2:19-22)
But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit comes
on you; and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and
in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the
earth. (Acts 1:8)
Let us hold unswervingly to
the hope we profess, for he
who promised is
faithful. And let us
consider how we may spur one
another on toward love and
good deeds. Let us not
give us meeting together, as
some are in the habit of
doing, but let us encourage
one another-- and all the
more as you see the Day
approaching. (Hebrews
10:23-25)
Also, Matthew 5:13-16,
Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians
4:11-13, Ephesians 5:19-21,
Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians
12:12-31
VIII. The
Christian Life: We
believe that a Christian
should live for the glory of
God. As God's children
we should love and trust him
with all of our hearts, and
in turn, love our
fellowman. God's
children experience life
changing transformation
through His power that leads
them to live righteously in
Him.
Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and
with all your should and
with all your
strength. (Deuteronomy
6:5)
Let no debt remain
outstanding, except the
continuing debt to love one
another, for he who loves
his fellowman has fulfilled
the law. (Romans 13:8)
And we, who with unveiled
faces all reflect the Lord's
glory, are being transformed
into his likeness with
ever-increasing glory, which
comes form the Lord, who is
the Spirit. (2
Corinthians 3:18)
Therefore, I urge you
brothers, in view of God's
mercy, to offer your bodies
as living sacrifices, holy
and pleasing to God-- this
is your spiritual act of
worship Do not be
conformed any longer to the
pattern of this world, but
be transformed by the
renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to
test and approve what God's
will is-- his good,
pleasing, and perfect
will. (Romans 12:1, 2)
If you love me, you will
obey what I command... Jesus
replied, "If anyone
loves me, he will obey my
teaching. My Father
will love him, and we will
come to him and make our
home with him. He who
does not love me will not
obey my
teaching." (John
14:15, 23-24)
Also, Proverbs 3:5, 6, John
6:27-29, John 8:31, 32,
Romans 3:23, Romans 5:2,
Romans 15:9, I Corinthians
4:2, 1 Corinthians 10:31,
32, 2 Corinthians 4:10-12, 2
Corinthians 5:6-10, 2
Corinthians 9:6-9, Hebrews
12:14, 1 John 2:3-6,
Colossians 1:9, 10
IX. The
Ordinances: We believe
that the Lord Jesus Christ
has committed two ordinances
to the local church: baptism
and the Lord's Supper.
Baptism is the biblical
testimony of the professed
believer in the name of the
Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit. We believe
that Christian baptism by
immersion in water is a
public identification with
Jesus Christ in His death,
burial, and resurrection.
The Lord's Supper is the
commemoration by believers
of Christ's death and a
reminder, through the bread
and juice, of the Saviors
body and shed blood.
Those who partake in the
Lord's Supper should be
professed believers, walking
in fellowship with our risen
Lord.
Then Jesus came to
them and said, "All
authority in heaven and
earth has been given to
me. Therefore, go and
make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and
the Son, and the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to
obey everything I have
commanded you. And
surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the
age." (Matthew
28:18-20)
For I received form the Lord
what I also passed on to
you: The Lord Jesus,
on the night he was
betrayed, took bread, and
when had had given thanks,
he broke it and said,
"This is my body, which
is for you; do this in
remembrance of
me." In the same
way, after supper he took
the cup, saying, "This
is the new covenant in my
blood; do this whenever you
drink it, in remembrance of
me." For whenever
you eat this bread and drink
this cup, you proclaim the
Lord's death until he
comes. (1 Corinthians
11:23-26)
Also, Acts 10:47, Acts 18:8,
Romans 6:3-5
X. The Last
Things: We believe in
the personal return of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
Upon His return there will
be a bodily resurrection of
the righteous and the
unrighteous. The
Christian will be raised to
fellowship with God and
everlasting joy. The
lost will be condemned to
judgment and eternal
separation from God.
For the Son of Man is
going to come in his
Father's glory with his
angels, and then he will
reward each person according
to what he has done. I
tell you the truth, some who
are standing here will not
taste death before they see
the Son of Man coming in his
kingdom. (Matthew
16:27, 28)
"I am," said
Jesus, "And you will
see the Son of Man sitting
at the right hand of the
Mighty One and coming on the
clouds of
heaven." (Mark
14:62)
